The Window Socket: Plug your device directly to the sun
Has your phone or tablet ever run out of battery while you were in a car, train, airplane,… or maybe in a cafe, or simply outdoors? No need to panic any more! Industrial designers Kyuho Song and Boa Oh have created The Window Socket, a solar plug socket that allows you to recharge your device directly from the greatest energy source: The Sun. It’s suction cup allows you to stick it on a window, displaying photovoltaic panels on the outside. The Solar Socket stores collected energy so that it can be used later at night or in the darkness.
Inventions like this have a great potential because they can help us free ourselves from private and centralised corporations, like electricity supply companies.
